The Anomaly Button

A red button sits in the center of The Anomaly Button, and touching it at the wrong moment immediately ends the run. The rule never changes: wait until the button turns green and press it before the signal disappears. The difficult part is staying focused while the game fills the screen with disturbing silhouettes, mirages, sudden sounds, and other anomalies intended to make the player react at exactly the wrong time.

Three Seconds to React

The green signal appears at a random moment and remains active for only three seconds. Clicking while the button is still red results in failure, but waiting too long after it becomes green ends the attempt as well. This creates two opposite risks: reacting prematurely because something on the screen looks important, or hesitating long enough to miss the real signal. Each successful press increases the counter displayed in the upper-left corner.

Ignore Everything Else

More than 60 different anomalies can appear during play. They do not replace the main objective; their purpose is to interfere with concentration. Visual effects, strange figures, flashes, and unexpected audio cues can appear while the player waits for the next color change, making it harder to distinguish an actual gameplay signal from another distraction.

The basic rules remain compact throughout a run:

·         wait while the button is red;

·         press only after it changes to green;

·         react within the three-second window;

·         ignore visual and audio anomalies;

·         avoid accidental clicks caused by distractions;

·         increase the successful-press counter for as long as possible.

There are no movement controls, enemies to fight, or puzzles requiring inventories and items. The challenge comes entirely from maintaining attention while unpredictable events occur around the button. Opening the settings menu pauses the current attempt, allowing options to be changed without losing the run.

Building a Longer Streak

The Anomaly Button uses an endless score-based structure rather than a sequence of traditional levels. There is no final puzzle that permanently completes the game; the goal is to keep making correct presses and extend the current streak. Since both an early click and a missed green signal cause failure, every successful point requires patience followed by a quick reaction. The constantly changing anomalies make that simple routine less predictable, turning a single-button mechanic into a test of concentration under horror-themed visual and audio pressure.
